CIRCULAR ECONOMY TRAINING

CIRCULAR ECONOMY TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR ACTIVE PROFESSIONALS 2025

With the aim of improving the competitiveness of the Basque business fabric, Ihobe, within the framework of Basque Circular Hub and PYME Circular Euskadi, and in collaboration with CONFEBASK and its member associations ADEGI, CEBEK and SEA, presents a new training programme for active professionals.

These free courses will enable companies to stay up to date with regulatory and market drivers, in order to identify opportunities and risks, make informed decisions and increase their competitiveness. The programme is based on five key environmental themes:

  • CARBON FOOTPRINT AND DECARBONISATION STRATEGIES.

This course consists of three modules that address the measurement and reduction of carbon emissions in organisations and products. The objective of these modules is to learn how to calculate an organisation’s carbon footprint for scopes 1, 2 and 3, introduce companies to the concept of product life cycle and environmental profiling using Ihobe’s “Climate & Circularity Calculator”, and understand the basic operation of OpenLCA to build company‑specific factors for scope 3 calculations.

  • TRANSPARENCY AND POSITIONING.

This topic, composed of three modules, responds to companies’ environmental information requirements. The training modules aim to understand the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, its main implications, and to explore ESG reporting systems in depth.

  • ECODESIGN FOR A CIRCULAR ECONOMY.

This course, divided into four modules, aims to introduce the new regulatory framework and its implications for product ecodesign. The training sessions will cover topics such as packaging ecodesign, circularity assessment in product design, new European material efficiency standards, and the digital product passport.

  • SUSTAINABLE FINANCE.

This course, composed of a single module, focuses on the implications of the European Taxonomy for sustainable finance. The aim of this course is to understand the obligations companies face under the taxonomy, the implications for them, and the steps required to identify the degree of alignment with this regulation.

  • RAW MATERIALS AND WASTE MANAGEMENT.

This course, composed of a single module, focuses on the new legal framework for construction products and the opportunities arising from the management of construction and demolition waste (CDW). The course will address the European and regional legal framework and provide guidelines and tools to implement, assess and certify sustainability in the construction sector, promoting the use of recyclable and secondary materials.

All information about course content, dates, duration, modules included in each course, etc., is available in the programme and on the Ihobe website.
