FINAL STUDY PROJECTS AND DOCTORAL WORKS

FINAL DEGREE PROJECTS AND DOCTORAL THESES

Ihobe, the Public Environmental Management Agency of the Basque Government, is launching a support service for the preparation of Final Degree Projects (TFG), Master’s Theses (TFM) and Doctoral Theses in the field of circular economy. These services are aimed especially at students and professionals seeking to integrate the life‑cycle approach into their academic projects.

The main objective of these services is to facilitate the development of academic work through two main lines of action:

  1. Student–Company Connection: Providing students with the opportunity to carry out their bachelor’s or master’s projects in a real environment by connecting them directly with companies in the sector. This initiative not only enriches the students’ educational experience but also strengthens collaboration between academia and industry, fostering innovative and applied projects.
  2. Personalised Tutoring: Offering punctual and personalised tutoring that provides technical assistance and guidance on critical aspects such as circularity assessment methodologies, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), carbon footprint calculation, and the use of specialised software such as Simapro, OpenLCA and the Climate & Circularity Calculator (3C).

These two services, although they can be used independently, are complementary, and their combined use maximises the benefit for users, offering a comprehensive and practical educational experience.

TARGET AUDIENCE

These new services are specifically aimed at people residing in the Basque Country who are in the process of developing or planning a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral project in the field of circular economy and environmental assessment. In particular, they are designed for:

  • Students Without an Assigned Topic: Those who wish to carry out a bachelor’s or master’s project in collaboration with a company and do not yet have a defined topic.
  • Students With an Assigned Topic: Those who, having already defined the topic of their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral project, seek specific guidance on circularity assessment methodologies, life cycle analysis, carbon and environmental footprint calculation, and the use of specialised software such as Simapro, OpenLCA and the 3C tool.
