BASQUE GREEN TALENT

Basque Circular Hub, the advanced circular economy services centre of the Basque Country managed by Ihobe, the Public Agency of the Basque Government, is launching the second call of the year for its internship programme aimed at young people in the field of circular economy. In this new edition, the Basque Green Talent programme enables the incorporation of one intern into a company in the Basque Country.

This programme responds to the growing need for environmental information required by companies and offers opportunities both for new generations and for businesses in the Basque Country. The objective of these internships is threefold: to help Basque companies face the challenges of climate neutrality through circular economy projects; to provide circular economy training to young people who do not have access to formal education in this field; and to meet the increasing market demand for professionals trained in circular economy.

What does Basque Green Talent offer?

  • Pre‑training in green skills: Ihobe provides initial specialised training for the person who will join the company as an intern.
  • Personalised support and tutoring: Throughout the programme, the participant will receive continuous support from an expert who will guide their learning and development.
  • Collaboration in business projects: The company will have, for six months, an intern who has completed their studies and can contribute to various organisational projects, always with expert tutoring provided by Ihobe.

Profiles of young participants in the programme

The programme is aimed at young people between 18 and 29 years old who have no work experience in related jobs. It is primarily focused on young people with higher vocational training or university degrees in Biology, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Business Administration, Law, Environmental Sciences, or related fields.

Work areas

These internships are oriented towards the development of projects related to circular economy.

  • Environmental assessment of organisations or products, such as carbon footprint, basic life cycle analysis, circularity indicators, environmental footprint or life cycle cost analysis.
  • Support in developing inventories for product certifications such as environmental product declarations.
  • Support for transparency and corporate reputation elements, such as the European taxonomy, CSRD, Ecovadis or sustainability reports.
  • Assessment of climate risks, both physical and transitional.

Costs for the company

Companies wishing to participate must cover a monthly stipend for the intern, amounting to a total cost of €5,627.57 for the 6‑month internship. Participating companies may benefit from specialised technical monitoring provided by the Ihobe team during the first five months of the internship.

Dates and duration

The internships will begin on 9 June 2025 and will last for 6 months.
