AUTONOMOUS USE OF SOFTWARE AT THE BASQUE CIRCULAR HUB FACILITIES

Ihobe, the Public Environmental Management Agency of the Basque Government, is launching a specialised software‑use service. The aim of this service is to provide access and support for the use of SimaPro and OpenLCA software, as well as the Climate & Circularity Calculator tool. Through this service, the goal is to facilitate access to specialised tools and the necessary assistance for students, companies and other individuals interested in life cycle analysis, enabling them to carry out projects effectively.

This service offers access to the following programmes:

• SimaPro: Professional software for calculating the environmental, social and economic impacts associated with a product or service throughout its entire life cycle, with applications in ecodesign, eco‑label development, carbon footprint or water footprint calculation, among others.
• OpenLCA: An open‑source software that enables the development of complete life cycle analyses of products and services using free and/or paid databases.
• Climate & Circularity Calculator: A web tool hosted on the www.ihobe.eus site that enables the integrated calculation of circular economy and climate change metrics (greenhouse gas accounting), applicable to both organisations and products.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This service is aimed at students, companies and any person residing in the Basque Country who is interested in calculating environmental metrics using SimaPro, OpenLCA and the Climate & Circularity Calculator tool.

The service is intended for individuals who require access to these tools for bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral projects, company professionals, as well as anyone interested in accessing these tools, always outside the framework of contracts with third parties.
