Ihobe, the Public Environmental Management Agency of the Basque Government, leads the support of companies in their transition towards a decarbonised economy that maximises the value and reuse of products, materials and resources. Faced with the challenges posed by the circular economy and climate change, a sustainable development model is promoted in which the value of products, materials and resources is preserved within the economy for as long as possible, thus reducing waste generation and encouraging their reuse in new production cycles.

What is the Basque Circular Hub?

To facilitate this transition, Ihobe has established the Basque Circular Hub Network, a series of advanced centres in circular economy. These centres are innovation platforms where new green entrepreneurship initiatives are promoted, improving the competitiveness of our companies. The services of the Basque Circular Hub for companies include:

• Advanced Training: Various specialised courses in circular economy are offered for active professionals.
• Project Support: Assistance is provided to companies in the implementation of projects that promote the circular economy through various collaborative programmes, such as internship programmes developed through the Basque Circular Hub.
• Basque LCA Centre: This initiative aims to promote the use of Life Cycle Analysis in companies, facilitating the use of specialised software and collaborating with young people in the development of bachelor's, master's or doctoral theses.
